Pregnancy Testing Centers of the Rio Grande Valley was founded in 1989 by Frank and Tere Painter. The first center opened in Harlingen in February of 1989, followed by McAllen in September of 1990, Brownsville in November 1991, and Weslaco in February 2001.

Mission Statement

         The Pregnancy Testing Centers is a Christ centered organization whose mission is to                  reduce unplanned pregnancy and assist women and their families in making the right               choices for their lives.

Services Offerred: A Women’s Resource : Free Pregnancy Test, Abortion Education, Supportive Guidance, Parental Mediation, STD Education, Post Abortion Support. among many other services.

Things we do to help reduce out of wedlock births:

* Distribute bulletin inserts in area churches during Sanctity of Human Life week
* Volunteer Training workshops
* Abstinence Presentations in area schools, Church Youth Groups
* Community Presentations such as Rotary, WIC Clinics Work Force, Detention Centers
* TV Community service guest speakers
* Radio Programs addressing these issues
* Radio spots to bring awareness to popular teen radio shows
* Church Presentations “Women Ministries”
* Banquets Fundraisers that raise awareness and educate the community
